Compare Time‑Lapse Embryo Images

#
Introduction

Time‑lapse embryo comparison allows you to compare different time‑lapse embryo images side by side.

This workflow is particularly useful for observing morphokinetic markers differences between different groups of embryos (e.g. difference between hatching blastocyst and an expanding blastocyst).

Turn On Comparison View

To turn on embryo comparison view, proceed as follows:

  • Choose Embryo Library from the main menu.
  • Hover the pointer over the thumbnail of the first embryo you want to compare.
  • An orange Compare button appears at the bottom-right corner of the embryo thumbnail.
Display the Compare button by hovering over Time‑Lapse quick preview

  • Click on the Compare button.
  • Make sure that the orange tick mark shows up in the top-left corner of the embryo thumbnail.

  • Make sure that the orange tick mark shows up at the top-left corner of the selected embryo's thumbnail.
  • Select and click on the thumbnail of the second embryo you want to compare against the first one.
  • An orange Compare With button appears at the bottom-right corner of the embryo view, below the time ruler.
  • Click on the Compare With button.
  • Comparison View is enabled, you can now monitor and control both embryos.

Working with Comparison View

By default, the side-by-side view is displayed with the first embryo view on the top, and the second one at the bottom.

There is established relationship between the embryo views, so you can observe and control both of them simultaneously. This means that the embryo views share the following controls:

  • Play button Press the Play button to play the time‑lapse and animate the timeline. The Play button becomes a Pause button. Press Pause to pause playback.
  • Morphokinetic Display Mode panel Use this panel to show or hide viability morphokinetic graphs.
Note

When you close the Comparison View, the comparison is reset and you are redirected to the list of embryos. Previously selected embryos are removed from comparison.
